Slow down, Mr Claus, slow down!

by Lachie Strummer - 15:57 on 28 December 2011

 Gone

Ach well, that’s it over for another year.

The bloke in the red suit and white beard is back home in front of a log fire coughing, sneezing, and sipping away at his Beecham’s powders.
The poor soul was soaked to the skin by the time he returned North.

Not only that. After a rake of drams, brandies, rums, or whatever, on his rounds, he was in no fit state to be in charge of a child’s scooter never mind six reindeer.

He had at least one near-miss. An Airbus heading for the US had to make a last minute starboard turn over Iceland when it was approached at 15,000 feet by a speeding sleigh moving erratically.
‘The old guy in the front seat seemed to be fast asleep,’ said Richard Cohen, an airline passenger heading home to New York for Christmas.

Maybe he’s starting to realise that he just can’t handle it anymore. Mr Claus, it’s time to slow down.

This late night/early morning express delivery service is a young man’s game!

Now I may well be mistaken however I would imagine Mr Richard Cohen would be returning to New York to celebrate the final few days of Hanukkah?
Shalom!
