Hallow'een, homesick hens, and cotton buds.

by The Strum - 10:19 on 01 November 2011

Hallow’een

Last night we had visitations from various apparitions; witches, vampires, zombies - and even a couple of grannies!

Not for the faint hearted.

Anyway, the morning after the night before and the dining room table is still creaking under the weight of unclaimed monkey nuts, lollipops and chewy white-coloured feet.

If I start getting a bit podgy and visiting the dentist more often you all know why.

Hens

The latest group of Struan hens have settled in well to their new abode.

I’m not aware of them pining for the treeless, windswept North but perhaps they’re spending these dark November evenings reminiscing and singing Gaelic songs.

Cotton Buds

Why does it say on the label of Johnson’s Cotton Buds ‘Do not insert into ear’ ?

Is there any male member of the species who hasn’t done this at some point?

If they’re not for sticking in your ear where exactly are we meant to stick them?

Steady now!
