Swallows and Tractors

by Lachie Strummer - 17:40 on 13 August 2010

Coke

It’s been a funny old week.

Last Saturday I thought I’d have a go at ‘snorting coke’.

Never again.  The bubbles kept going up my nose.

Tractor

Doing some repairs to the tractor this week.

She’s been quite troublesome lately.

Definitely an attitude problem.

Anyway, I scoured ‘the net’ for the necessary parts and got her up and running again, ready for action.

Hopefully she’ll behave herself for a while.

Swallows

Those swallows in the shed are still busy with their offspring.

This is at least their second batch of the Summer.

Not long now, though, till they head South for Winter.

Lucky buggers!

Deer

The local roe deer, the one who visits us periodically, put in an appearance this week.

I was under the bonnet of the tractor, up to my eyes in grease and oil, when he jumped out of the undergrowth close by.

I don’t know who got the bigger fright ; I must have resembled a giant panda to the poor creature.
