Laptop

Laptop

Took delivery of a new laptop this very week.

In my seafaring days a lap top was a kind of dancer found in exotic ports but I’m sure you don’t want to hear about that.

Anyway, a fine piece of state-of-the-art technology I’m led to believe.

It does have it’s own way of making me nervous, though.

Every 20 minutes or so another new programme pops up on the screen asking to be installed.

After I tick ‘yes’ another box pops up telling me this could potentially harm my brand new computer and hints that I should possibly reconsider my decision.

What I do now is tick ‘yes’ and then run out the room for 5 minutes.

I then poke my head round the door to check that the machine hasn’t turned into a smouldering pile of molten plastic and silicon.

If it hasn’t I resume my computing activities.
