Strimming
It's that time of year when the townships echo to the sound of grass-cutting equipment of various shapes and sizes.
My preferred 'weapon' is a Honda 4-Stroke Strimmer (with Brushcutter option!)
Operating this fine piece of Japanese engineering is surely the closest I'll ever come to flying my own helicopter!
I was slicing my way through some thick undergrowth this morning when a black and white cat jumped up, about a foot ahead of me, and legged it at a great rate of knots to my neighbours' garden.
He'll get over it.
Anniversary
This week will be 21 years since 'herself' and I got married.
I remember it well.
I've always been amazed at the train of events that followed that momentous occasion.
Within a few months the entire Soviet Union collapsed.
The Berlin Wall came down.
Nelson Mandela was released from prison.
Aye, it's a good job we got married!
