Whale Meat
Have you ever eaten the meat of a marine mammal?
I remember once during my sea-going days, whilst off the Japanese coast, tasting whale meat.
I have to say it wasn’t bad at all – quite succulent and tender and not short of flavour – but I couldn’t eat a whole one.
Middle of the Road
Aye, it’s a dangerous place to be but it’s also the name of one of Scotland’s finest musical exports.
Who can forget their early seventies global hit ‘Chirpy, Chirpy, Cheep, Cheep’.
They don’t write them like that anymore!
Apparently, when lead singer Sally Carr married legendary Scottish sports journalist Chick Young she changed the lyrics to ‘Chirpy, Chirpy, Chick, Chick’.
Not a lot of crofters know that.
Self-Motivation
I was speaking to ‘a fellow crofter’ today and he said he was going to sign up for one of these self-motivation courses.
He decided, though, he just couldn’t be arsed.
