A Waterloo Wedding in Glasgow
Went to a wedding dance in Glasgow with ‘herself’.
What a great night it was.
Before the evening started we walked along Argyle Street to get some vital stores.
Heading back to the hotel we required liquid sustenance and repaired to a pub named after the groom’s home township – the Waterloo Bar.
I have to say it seemed quiet compared to neighbouring establishments and maybe the photos of Fred Astaire and Marilyn Monroe should have made things obvious.
Anyway, you haven’t lived till you’ve had a damn good pint in a gay bar in Glasgow.
Spean Bridge
Drove through Spean Bridge and passed the burnt out shell that used to be a woollen mill.
Sadly, all that remains are 4 stone walls and rubble ; like some tiny piece of Stalingrad.
I’m not sure though it’s necessary having a sign saying ‘Closed till further notice’.
If the sign wasn’t there would anyone stumble through the debris, purse in hand, hoping to purchase a lambswool cardigan for their granny.
